If there's one player on the roster who has been there for Tyler Pitlick's entire journey to Edmonton it's Brandon Davidson. The two have been around each other since the 2010 NHL Draft, in which they were selected by the Oilers.
They played together in the American Hockey League and worked their way up to the NHL, where now Pitlick has begun to make in impact on a consistent basis with his physical play and some goal scoring. Davidson, who is currently recovering from an injury, has been watching Pitlick and says he sees a different player now.
"I feel like he's playing a fearless game," said Davidson. "He's had some problems in the past with some injuries and he's come in here prepared to do whatever it takes. You can see it with the way he scores goals. He goes hard to the net with speed and he's very tenacious.
"He's throwing it all on the line and he's getting rewarded for it. I played with him in the minors and up here as well. I think it's a tremendous thing to see. He had a baby girl this summer and stuff, so it's a beautiful thing to see. Hopefully he can continue with his success and for many years to come."
Pitlick has five goals this season, after previously tallying just three in his NHL career.
