The Bakersfield Condors watched a two-goal lead disappear but persevered, winning 3-2 in overtime over the Alaska Aces in game two of the ECHL Western Conference Finals.

Jordan Knackstedt opened the scoring at 9:55 of the second period. He was assisted by Matt Thurber.

Chris Collins put the Condors up 2-0 with a power play goal at 12:28 of the middle frame. That goal was assisted by Greg Miller and George Hughes.

Just like in game one, Edmonton Oilers goaltender prospect Laurent Brossoit stopped all of the shots he faced in the opening 40 minutes of the game. He stopped 23 shots in the opening two periods of game one and stopped all 13 he faced tonight. He'd finish the game with 24 saves on 26 shots.

It took until 5:28 of the third period for the Aces to crack Brossoit and it came off a deflection. Evan Trupp scored, assisted by Brendan Connolly and Sean Curry.

Alaska tied the game at two with 6:23 remaining in the game. Connolly scored, assisted by Trupp and Kane Lafranchise, to send the game to overtime.

After watching a lead slip away in game one, resulting in a 2-1 loss, the Condors would not be denied in this game.

Garry Steffes scored 2:53 into the overtime period to propel the Edmonton Oilers affiliate to the series-tying victory. With the series tied 1-1, game three will be played on Friday in Bakersfield, CA.
