Hey everybody. I just got back from our practice in LA and wanted to take a few minutes to update you on the past few days. I guess I'll start with our win over Montreal. That game was definitely something that we needed. Wins like that don't happen too often, so it's important to appreciate it when they do.
We had a late night that night because right after the game we headed to the airport and flew to Palm Springs. After going through customs (we were in line right behind the Canadiens) and then spending a few hours in the plane we didn't arrive at the resort until 3am. Daryl Katz joined us down there and set us up with everything and it was an experience I won't forget.
Our resort was absolutely amazing. We woke up Thursday morning, had a quick breakfast, and then got straight to golfing. We were originally going to have a bit of a competition but we kiboshed that pretty quick and just had fun out there. The golf course was awesome with a great view of these huge houses and estates. We didn't have to worry about bringing our golf gear because there were shoes, shirts and balls waiting for us when we arrived in our rooms. It couldn't have been better.
After our round, we had dinner in the clubhouse. It was a very nice evening with awesome food. The lamb was unbelievable and my favorite part of the meal for sure. It was nice to get our minds off hockey and just have some fun together. I only wish we could have stayed longer.
I'll wrap this up with a quick movie review and update on my New Year's resolution. I saw Taken the other day and it was awesome. One of the better movies I've seen recently, and I've seen some good ones. I recommend it.
I've also started reading this month's book. It's called Why We Suck by Dennis Leary. He pretty much goes on a rampage about everything. I think he's a funny guy so it's pretty good so far.
