Two Oilers prospects are among the 28 players named to the preliminary roster for the 2018 US National Junior Team.
Forward Kailer Yamamoto and defenceman Philip Kemp are the Edmonton prospects named to the team. Kemp was taken in the seventh round of the 2017 NHL Draft and is playing for Yale University, where he has compiled one goal and two assists in seven games. Yamamoto was taken 22nd overall in 2017 and has nine points (1-8-9) in 10 games for the Spokane Chiefs in the WHL. He played nine games for the Oilers this season, recording three assists.
The final 23-man roster will represent the United States in the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship from December 26-January 5, 2018 in Buffalo, NY.
