EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers are putting an entire month of play behind them as they exit October and enter November. It seems like a no brainer, but for the Oilers it's very important for them to mentally reset in the new month.
"I think it needs to be," said defenceman Darnell Nurse. "We've got to put the past behind us and move forward. With that said, we're into it now and each and every night needs to be just as important as if we were fighting for a playoff spot at the end of the year. We have to play with that intensity night in and night out."
After a 3-6-1 start to the season, the Oilers have had a couple of days of practice to make adjustments, shuffle the lineup and hopefully be prepared for the next slate of games.
"Our urgency and our compete has got to be there each and every night," said Nurse. "Our last couple of days have been good for us to go out here and fine tune some things we need to be better at. With that said, it's got to translate to games. We've just got to start playing and collecting points."
