BLOG: Strome sees Oilers as 'close to winning'

Oilers forward Ryan Strome is beyond excited to be an Oiler.
The 24-year-old was on hand at Oilers Hockey School Friday and was asked what makes him so eager to get the season underway with his new squad.
"I'm just excited to come to a team that I think is really close to winning," Strome said. "It doesn't seem too long ago that I was watching the playoffs. I was sitting up until two in the morning with my buddies watching (Oilers) games like, 'Wow these guys are quite the team.'"
Strome took things further when he articulated why he believes the Oilers are close.
"Believe it or not, talking to guys that played Edmonton in the playoffs," he said. "I'm not going to say names but they were saying they were so impressed and so blown away.
"The sky's the limit and to be part of that is exciting."
