Head Coach Todd McLellan said following Wednesday's Oilers practice that Andrej Sekera will require a stint on Injured Reserve to recover from an injury sustained last Friday against the Anaheim Ducks.
The defenceman was struck in the face by a puck in the first period and was ruled out for the rest of the night shortly thereafter. He missed Saturday's game in San Jose and Monday's game vs. Florida, officially going on IR today.
Sekera, who has one assist in 18 games this season, would be eligible to return for Saturday's matinee matchup in Glendale against the Arizona Coyotes.
