"He added some leadership to our team today, especially in tense moments. He gave us good minutes and was hard and heavy around our net," said Condors Head Coach Jay Woodcroft.

BAKERSFIELD, CA - For the first time since Apr. 2, 2018, Andrej Sekera participated in game action on Friday.

In the first game of his AHL conditioning stint with the Bakersfield Condors, the rearguard registered one shot on goal, a plus-one rating and two penalty minutes in a 3-1 victory over the San Jose Barracuda.

"He added some leadership to our team today, especially in tense moments," said Head Coach Jay Woodcroft following the win. "He gave us good minutes, he moved pucks and was hard and heavy around our net. I liked everything about his game.

"I'm looking forward to what he brings tomorrow night."

Paired with William Lagesson, Sekera also saw some power play action in his first outing. In the middle frame, the defenceman made a slap-pass on the man-advantage that caught a deflection and hit the crossbar with the score tied.

The Condors will go for their 12th straight victory on Saturday night when they host the San Diego Gulls. Sekera is expected to be in the lineup.
