EDMONTON, AB - Making your debut in an Oilers uniform is a special moment, but your first inside Rogers Place in front of your fans is unforgettable.
"Take it all in," said right-winger Kailer Yamamoto, who made his home debut in this fixture last pre-season against NAIT/MacEwan. "It's an unbelievable experience and something you'll never forget.
"We put in a good workout practice yesterday and a good pregame skate today, so I think the boys are going to be ready to go."
From the moment the rookies took to the ice of Rogers Place for the start of Oilers Rookie Camp last Thursday, players like Ryan McLeod couldn't wait for their opportunity to suit up for the real thing.
The opportunity to right Sunday's loss to the Flames Rookies adds fuel to the fire.
"The first time I came in here I saw the jerseys and I was pretty pumped to get out there on the actual rink," McLeod said. "We lost to these guys last year so this is a game we want to win. We want to impress the fans and show them what we got."
