EDMONTON, AB - The Oilers have assigned Jesse Puljujarvi to the Bakersfield Condors of the American Hockey League.
Puljujarvi, 19, had two goals and an assist in five pre-season games. Taken fourth overall in the 2016 NHL Draft, the Finnish winger split last season between the AHL and NHL. He played 28 games for the Oilers, recording one goal and seven assists. He also played 39 games for Bakersfield, scoring 12 goals and adding 16 assists.
In addition to this move, the Oilers announced earlier today they placed defenceman Mark Fayne on waivers for purpose of assignment to the Condors.
The Oilers have 13 healthy forwards, and three injured still on the roster in addition to Chris Kelly, who's on a tryout. They also have seven healthy defencemen and two injured.
