BLOG: Pitlick has a lacerated spleen

by Marc Ciampa / Edmonton Oilers

There were two players who were not on the ice today at the Pepsi Center in Denver: Taylor Hall and Tyler Pitlick. Following practice, Todd Nelson was asked about the status of both.

Tyler Pitlick suffered a lacerated spleen last night and he’s still in Calgary under further evaluation," Nelson stated. "As for Taylor Hall, it was just a maintenance day today.”

It is believed that Pitlick suffered the injury on a hit from Calgary's Lance Bouma. The amount of time Pitlick will be out has not yet been determined.

Pitlick has been placed on injured reserve.
