Edmonton Oilers Ben Scrivens and David Perron will both represent Canada at the 2014 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Minsk, Belarus, May 9-25.
Scrivens finished the season playing 21 games for the Oilers, posting a .916 save percentage and 3.01 goals against average.
Perron had career highs in goals (28) and points (57) in 78 games this season with the Oilers.
Perron and Scrivens are among the first group of 20 players announced by Hockey Canada as members of the 2014 team.
“We are excited about the first group of players that have committed to representing Canada at the world championship,” Rob Blake, general manager of Canada’s National Men’s Team said. “We have a good mix of experience and youth at both the professional and international level.”
