SAN DIEGO, CA - For the second consecutive year, the Edmonton Oilers game operations team has won the Golden Matrix Award for Best Overall Video Display Content among NHL teams at the IDEA (Information Display & Entertainment Association) conference.
The Oilers beat out the San Jose Sharks and Toronto Maple Leafs in the Best Overall Video Display Content category, joining winners from other major North American sports leagues including the Houston Texans (NFL), Miami Heat (NBA), Toronto Blue Jays (MLB), Philadelphia Union (MLS), Auburn University (NCAA) and Manitoba Moose (minor pro).
The Heat were also selected as the all-sports winner for Best Overall Video Display Content, which the Oilers won in 2018.
Edmonton was also a finalist for Best Special Occasion Video and Best Music Video at this year's awards.
IDEA is the premier professional association for the event presentation industry, and annually recognizes superior achievement by awarding its Golden Matrix Awards (GMAs) at the annual IDEA conference. The GMAs recognize artistic and technical excellence in several categories of electronic display production.
