EDMONTON, AB - To be the best, you've got to beat the best.
On May 19, 1984, the Oilers won their first of five Stanley Cup titles in seven years, knocking off the four-time defending champion New York Islanders, who had defeated them in the Final one year earlier.
To commemorate the legendary rivalry and changing of the guard in NHL dominance, the Oilers and Islanders are teaming up to host "Clash of the Dynasties" on Monday, June 1 at 5pm MT.
The broadcast will include an EA Sports NHL 20 simulation game between the 1984 Oilers and Islanders lineups, featuring interviews with alumni from both teams, as well as commentary from Edmonton's Jack Michaels and New York's Brendan Burke.
Oilers fans can stream the program live on the team's Twitter, Facebook and YouTube channels.
