Oilers sign Versteeg

The Oilers have signed forward Kris Versteeg to a PTO.

The 30-year-old Lethbridge, AB native has played 550 career regular season NHL games, and 89 in the post-season. In the regular season, Versteeg has recorded 131 goals and 182 assists for 313 points. In the playoffs, Versteeg has 17 goals and 27 assists for 44 points.

Versteeg split 2015-16 with the Carolina Hurricanes and Los Angeles Kings. The veteran had 15 goals and 38 points in 77 games between the two teams. He also scored a goal and had an assist in five playoff games for the Los Angeles Kings.

The 5-foot-11, 176-pound forward brings championship experience as well. He is a two-time Stanley Cup winner with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2010 and 2015.

The forward was originally a fifth-round pick of the Boston Bruins in the 2004 NHL Draft.
