The Oilers have signed Zack Kassian to a three-year contract extension

The Oilers have signed winger Zack Kassian to a three-year contract extension.

Kassian, 26, was acquired by the Oilers in a trade with Montreal on December 28, 2015. Since that trade, Kassian has played in 115 regular season games for the Oilers, scoring 10 goals and adding 22 assists, while logging 215 penalty minutes. In 13 playoff games during the Oilers recent run, Kassian potted three goals.

The right-winger gained additional popularity in the post-season with his impactful physical play and timely goals against the San Jose Sharks in the first round. His three goals this year were his first of his playoff career.

Kassian is a veteran of 313 career games in the NHL - playing for the Oilers, Buffalo Sabres and Vancouver Canucks. He has also logged 21 games in the playoffs. He has 45 career regular season goals and 98 points.

Kassian was a pending restricted free agent.
