DALLAS, TX - The Edmonton Oiler have selected London Knights defenceman Evan Bouchard with the 10th-overall selection at the 2018 NHL Draft.
"There's not really many words to say, I'm just really excited," Bouchard told reporters after being selected by the Oilers.
Bouchard scored 25 goals and 87 points in 67 games last season as captain of the Knights.
The rearguard didn't say whether he feels he's ready for the NHL next season, rather, he's simply enjoying the process.
"For me, I'm just trying to take it all one step at a time," he said. "Enjoy the process because I know there's a lot of stuff to work on."
