BLOG: Oilers ecplise Stars

After claiming a win in Vancouver, the Dallas Stars were gunning for a back-to-back win in Oil Town but came up short.

“I think we had a great opportunity to score and we should have put a couple, a few, behind [Nilsson] but we’ll have to learn from it and try to score next game,” said Stars centre Mattias Janmark.

Thanks to a show-stopping performance from Oilers goaltender Anders Nilsson, Edmonton came away with a 2-1 overtime win.

“He played really good against us [when the Oilers were] in Dallas,” said Dallas forward Vernon Fiddler.

“You know, obviously he stood on his head but at the same time we’ve got to execute on our chances. I thought it was a pretty good effort — back-to-back games, getting in late — I didn’t think we sat back at all; we took it to them. It’s going to happen, get right back on the saddle next game.”
