The Edmonton Oilers have acquired forward Colby Cave off waivers from the Boston Bruins. Cave, 24, has appeared in 20 games for Boston this season, posting one goal, four assists and a -1 plus-minus rating. He has also appeared in 15 games with the American Hockey League's Providence Bruins, scoring six goals, 12 assists, 13 penalty minutes and a +9 plus-minus rating. At 6'1", 201-pounds, Cave is in his fourth professional season and has appeared in a total of 23 NHL games with Boston, posting five points (1G, 4A), 10 penalty minutes and a -1 plus-minus rating. The native of Battleford, Saskatchewan has appeared in 239 AHL games over five seasons, posting 115 points (43G, 72A), 121 penalty minutes and +7 plus-minus rating. In 24 AHL playoff games, he added nine points (3G, 6A), 25 penalty minutes and a -4 plus-minus rating. The Edmonton Oilers have also assigned forward Joseph Gambardella to the Bakersfield Condors (AHL).
