EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers will hold a scrimmage on Saturday, July 25 at 1:00 PM MT to pay tribute to teammate Colby Cave and raise funds for the Colby Cave Memorial Fund. Cave, a forward with the Edmonton Oilers, suddenly and tragically passed away on April 11, 2020.

The training camp roster will be split into two teams, with all players wearing #12. The scrimmage will include three 20-minute periods and will be streamed live on EdmontonOilers.com, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Player sweaters will be auctioned off by the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation at a later date, with proceeds going to the Colby Cave Memorial Fund. Proceeds from this fund will go toward community programs with an emphasis on mental health initiatives and providing access to sports for underprivileged children.

Cave made a lasting impact both on and off the ice with the Edmonton Oilers and the AHL's Bakersfield Condors, and before that with the Boston Bruins organization and the WHL's Swift Current Broncos. Cave was a consummate professional, well-respected by teammates and opponents alike. He was also a committed and positive member of the communities in which he played, eagerly volunteering for charitable initiatives and always stopping to say hi to fans.

Donations to the Colby Cave Memorial Fund are being accepted by the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation, in Colby's memory at EdmontonOilers.com/Colby.
