Team North America announced today that Oilers forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is one of seven players that have been added to its roster for the World Cup of Hockey 2016.
The top hockey players from Canada and the United States who are 23 or under as of Oct. 1, 2016 are available for selection exclusively by Team North America.
Nugent-Hopkins, 23, has appeared in 55 games with the Oilers this season, posting 34 points (12G, 22A) and 34 penalty minutes. The Burnaby, BC native has represented Canada several times internationally, most recently at the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship where Team Canada placed fourth that year.
