EDMONTON, AB - You may have heard about the anonymous bidder who recently acquired the rare Connor McDavid rookie card for a record-setting price of $135,811.20.
And while that particular collector certainly has the most valuable McDavid card in existence, we may have found the Oilers fan with the largest total collection of Captain Connor cards.
Recchi Robichaud is a 13-year-old super-fan who lives in Baie-Sainte-Anne, New Brunswick, and has amassed an amazing assortment of 192 McDavid cards over the past five years since the generational talent was selected first overall by Edmonton.
"McDavid has been my favourite player since he was a rookie," Robichaud said. "Besides cards, I own a McDavid jersey, a stitched autographed hat, some collector tins, two huge posters, a Funko Pop and a stuffed Connor figure."

Robichaud said his dad gave him his hockey card collection when he was eight years old, and then he started buying his own packs and boxes whenever he had enough money saved from doing chores around the house.
So how did he manage to acquire so many Captain Connor cards? A little teamwork, word of mouth and, of course, some luck.
"A lot of it has come from trading, buying singles as in one specific card I'm looking for, buying packs and boxes and getting lucky," Robichaud said. "Some friends thought of me and gave me some when I was starting out too."
He said his favourite of the 192 is his 2016-17 Upper Deck Premier game-worn jersey card, number 42 of only 199 that were created.
