EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers returned to Rogers Place as they work towards Game 4 on Tuesday night following a complete 4-1 win over the Calgary Flames in Game 3 of their second-round Battle of Alberta series.
Edmonton was guided offensively by their top line of Evander Kane, Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, who combined for three goals and seven assists including Kane's natural hat-trick recorded in six minutes flat during the second period of the victory,
The momentum generated from the trio on Sunday trickled down to the rest of the lineup, whose contributions towards rounding out the performance in the scoring, defending, special teams, and goaltending departments couldn't be understated in helping lift the Oilers to a 2-1 series advantage.
"I think we're playing the game the right way right now over the last two games," Leon Draisaitl said. "I think our line has done most of the scoring, but the other lines are creating offence, creating chances, they're defending well, they're doing all the little things good right now and we need that to continue for the rest of the run."
"Our top guys are playing well, but all throughout our lineup everyone's playing to the best of their abilities doing what's being asked of them," defenceman Tyson Barrie said. "A game like last night, you kind of see the rewards of that in playing a full team game for a full 60 minutes. It's great to see everybody involved."
