EDMONTON, AB - In addition to discussing more serious matters regarding the pause of the NHL season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Oilers forward Connor McDavid and fellow Pacific Division captains were able to share some light-hearted moments when they converged for a video conference on Friday.
McDavid, Arizona Coyotes Captain Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Vancouver Canucks Captain Bo Horvat and Calgary Flames Captain Mark Giordano were each asked which of their teammates they would and wouldn't want to be quarantined with for an extended period of time.
Captain Connor picked defenceman Darnell Nurse as his optimal quarantine roommate and jokingly questioned his ability to keep up with fellow forward Zack Kassian's relentless energy in a lock-down setting.
"I'd probably go with Nursey," McDavid said. "He's a guy that I've lived with before and obviously I've known him a long time as well, so he's a guy I'm real comfortable with and know the ins and outs of his life. He knows the same about mine.
"Least, I'll probably have to go with Kass here. He's just got too much energy. He's go-go-go constantly, so that's not what you're looking for when you're trapped in a house all day. Obviously I love Kass, but there's just a little bit too much energy for a quarantine."
