LAS VEGAS, NV - Connor McDavid arrived in Las Vegas for the NHL Awards on Tuesday afternoon and, during his media availability, offered thoughts on the group of surviving members of the Humboldt Broncos being reunited at the event.

"It's special for us to meet them. To know what they've gone through and to see them here in Vegas taking in the event, it speaks to how strong they all are and how amazing it is that they are able to be here," said the Oilers captain.
"For us players, it's special for us to be able to talk to them. They are a symbol of strength and bravery."
Nine of the surviving 13 members of the Broncos bus tragedy who were able to attend were reunited and flown down to take part in the NHL Awards festivities including several who are still working their way through the physical rehabiliation process. The NHL players in attendance spent some time chatting with the Broncos team members before meeting with the media.
It was also announced on Tuesday afternoon that the NHL and NHLPA will be teaming up to bring the Stanley Cup to Humboldt on August 24 as part of a community event that will see several NHL players and alumni in attendance.
