Oilers defensive prospect John Marino is on the hunt with the USHL Tri-City Storm as they attempt to win the team’s first Clark Cup.
The Storm overcame a 2-1 first period deficit to defeat the Waterloo Black Hawks 5-3 on home ice in Game 5 of the western conference final series and make their second Clark Cup Final appearance in team history.
Marino was drafted by the Oilers in round 6, 154th overall, of the 2015 NHL Draft. This season the blueliner recorded five goals and 25 assists for 30 points in 56 games with the Storm.
The best-of-five series will kick-off on Friday in Dubuque, Iowa, where Tri-City will face off against the Dubuque Fighting Saints.
