Klefbom

EDMONTON, AB - Oscar Klefbom is happy to play any part he could in the renaissance from the Oilers blueline this season.
The 26-year-old Swedish defender has logged the fifth-highest average ice time (25:25) in the NHL this campaign, and his 34 points (5G, 29A) in 66 games for the Blue & Orange have him in line to surpass a career-high of 38 points three seasons ago that was amassed over all 82 games.
Klefbom's point production and ability to rack up the minutes played represent a large chunk of the Oilers contributions from the blueline, which as a whole checks one of the many boxes for a successful season in the League - goaltending, special teams, and goalscoring to name a few.
"If you're going to win a Stanley Cup and have a good playoff run, you need all the pieces to work," Klefbom said via conference call from Karlstad, Sweden on Friday. "This year I think we've had most of our pieces working really well for the big part of the year, and obviously it feels like we had a good year from the blue line.
"Obviously myself, I think I've played pretty solid."
