Nail Yakupov was a late scratch prior to the start of the game due to an ankle injury and Matt Hendricks did not return to the game after the second intermission.
Oilers Head Coach Dallas Eakins said both are likely day-to-day.
“Yak’s ankle is a problem and this morning it was a big problem but he went out there for warm up and he tried it again,” Eakins said. “He’s trying to stay in the lineup and we’ve been pushing guys like, hey you’re banged up a little bit you’ve got to try to get in there and play and he did that. I respect him for that but it just wasn’t there. He’s kind of day-to-day too and those ankles, you never know what’s going on with them.”
Hendricks’ injury was due to a blocked shot.
“When you block that shot, it always hurts,” Eakins said. “I don’t care how much padding you have. A great sacrifice by him and he hung in there as long as he could and then he just got to a point where that leg wasn’t moving very well anymore so he had to call it a night.”
The team is likely to make some call ups from Oklahoma City shortly.
“(General Manager) Craig (MacTavish) wasn’t here tonight so I’ve got to get on the phone with him and see what he wants to do but we could need as many as two forwards.”
