EDMONTON, AB - From frozen street hockey games to locker room wrestling matches, Oilers legend Wayne Gretzky reflected on the life and legacy of longtime dressing room attendant Joey Moss.
It was Gretzky who introduced Moss to the hockey club in the early 1980's after he met him when he was dating Joey's sister Vicki. Moss was working at an Edmonton bottle depot at the time and Gretzky asked Head Coach and General Manager Glen Sather if he could work for the team instead and help out around the locker room with the training staff.
Sather said yes and Moss ended up spending the final 35 years of his life with the team, remaining close friends with Gretzky right up until his passing on Monday at the age of 57.
