Edmonton's gutsy 4-3 overtime victory on Thursday put many inexperienced Oilers into an unfamiliar position.
With a 3-2 series lead, the Oil have an opportunity to eliminate the San Jose Sharks in Game 6 Saturday at SAP Center.
"It's our first chance as a group to experience this," said forward Mark Letestu, who scored a power play goal in Game 5. "We'd love to do it in this first game."
Since they are perennial Stanley Cup contenders, the Oilers know the Sharks are not going to wilt.
"We're going to have to play our best game," continued Letestu. "There's no doubt. This team's (San Jose) belief system is really strong. They were in the Stanley Cup Finals last year.
"They probably believe they're going to come back. We're going to have to do everything - whether it's special teams, faceoffs - the things that were strong last night, they're going to have to show up again for us to be successful."
