EDMONTON, AB - Oilers Head Coach Todd McLellan knew opposing teams wouldn't take his squad lightly in the 2017-18 season.
Three games into the campaign, the Oilers are below .500 with a 1-2-0 record and facing some immediate adversity as they attempt to file games into the win column.
"We're facing it early, which is not a surprise to me knowing how some teams and young players react to the season prior and what happens over the summer," said McLellan. "This is one of those segments throughout the year where we have to pull together."

McLellan, who is happy with the way his team has practiced over the past three days, says he expects the Ottawa Senators to be a difficult challenge on Saturday.
"We'd like to think the game will go our way against Ottawa but they're a good team, they're going to get in our way and they're going to do everything they can to stall us," McLellan said. "Whether we come out of it immediately or if it takes us a little while, the important thing is we're working towards it and that we have everyone pulling the right way."
The Senators own a 1-0-2 record this season.
