Leon Draisaitl is listed at 6-foot-1, 210 pounds. That’s a good size for a centre prospect coming out in this year’s draft. He is projected to go in the top five in this year’s draft and could be at play for the Oilers who pick at three.
Oilers Now’s Bob Stauffer spoke with Draisaitl’s junior head coach on his radio show Thursday and asked if the 18-year-old centre is really that size.
“He’s a good-sized kid,” Prince Albert Head Coach Cory Clouston said. “He might not be quite 210. By the end of the year he might have been 207, 208 but he’s a big kid. He’s got a thick chest, he’s got big legs, a very wide back, he’s a big kid. He’s all of that. I know when sometimes you look at stats you go, there’s no way that that kid is that big but that size is legitimate. He’s for sure that size.”
