On Friday, the Edmonton Oilers selected Jordan Eberle
22nd overall at the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Eberle was highly rated on the Oilers' list going into the draft and likewise the Oilers were highly rated on Eberle's list. The 18 year old grew up in Regina and Calgary as a diehard fan of the Oilers and was thrilled when the team stepped up to the podium and called his name.
Last season, Eberle led the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League in scoring. In fact, his 42 goals were more than double anyone else on his team.
