2015 IIHF World Championships - Day 2

The Edmonton Oilers have five players participating in the 2015 IIHF World Hockey Championships in Czech Republic: Jordan Eberle and Taylor Hall (Canada), Anton Lander and Oscar Klefbom (Sweden) and Matt Hendricks (United States).

We will also provide updates on high-ranked 2015 NHL Draft prospect Jack Eichel, who is playing for USA.

USA 2, NORWAY 1

It was a close one for the Americans, who held on to a one-goal lead for a 2-1 win over Norway at the 2015 IIHF World Hockey Championship.

Brock Nelson scored the game-winner at 5:58 of the second period, assisted by Torey Krug and Trevor Lewis.

Before that, it was deadlocked at 1-1.

Morten Ask scored for Norway at 6:39 to take a 1-0 lead.

Trevor Lewis responded at 12:16 of the same frame, to tie the game for the United State. Connor Hellebuyck made 22 saves in net for USA.

Oilers winger and US Captain Matt Hendricks received two minutes and a misconduct penalty for a check to the head.

USA will play Russia on Monday at 8:15 a.m.
