Brock Nelson scored first for the Americans at 6:54 of the opening period. Tomas Rolinek responded for the Czechs at 9:25 of the same period.
The second frame was dominated by the Czech Republic as they rattled off three-straight power play goals to take a 4-1 commanding lead.
Two goals by Tyler Johnson and the Americans in the third period wouldn’t be enough as the Czechs would hold on for the one-goal win.

Finland scored first but Canada used a two-goal second period to take the lead heading into the third.
