Zajac scores twice to lead Devils past Flyers @NHLdotcom

Travis Zajac scored two goals in the New Jersey Devils' 4-2 win against the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday.

Chris Porter, who Philadelphia put on waivers earlier Wednesday, and Wayne Simmonds scored to give the Flyers a 2-1 lead after the first period.

Adam Henrique and Zajac scored in the second period to put New Jersey ahead 3-2. Zajac scored an empty-net goal with 32 seconds remaining.

Damon Severson and Jacob Josefson each had two assists for New Jersey. Michael Del Zotto assisted on both goals for Philadelphia (3-2-1).

Flyers goalie Michal Neuvirth made 15 saves on 18 shots before being relieved by Jason LaBarbera at the start of the third period. LaBarbera made saves on all eight shots he faced in the third. Josefson scored on LaBarbera in a demonstration of the NHL's new 3-on-3 overtime format after LaBarbera misplayed the puck on a dump-in.

Keith Kinkaid made 27 saves for New Jersey (2-4-0).

The Devils were 1-for-5 on the power play; the Flyers were 1-for-3.
