The impression he's made has been positive, too. In four games with Rochester, Redmond is tied for the Amerks' team lead with three points and two assists.
With Nathan Beaulieu unavailable after sustaining an upper-body injury against Vancouver on Friday, the Sabres recalled Redmond to add to their defensive depth on Saturday morning. Taylor Fedun is also available to join the lineup after serving as a healthy scratch on Friday.
Phil Housley said that both Fedun and Redmond will take warmups, but his lineup beyond goaltender Robin Lehner will be a game-time decision.
"He's a good player," Housley said. "He's played some games, is experienced, has a big body back there. He's got a good presence so we'll know more after warmup, whether he's going to play tonight."
Housley said his team wasn't prepared to compete in their loss to the Canucks, a game that saw the Sabres outshot 37-13 through the first two periods. As the Sabres try to break their early-season slide, he said he'll continue to try different line combinations to develop consistency.
"You have to keep reminding them what it's going to take to win," Housley said. "We're in a position right now where we've dug a little bit of a hole, so we need some urgency in our game. It's just relaying that message, that it's hard to win in this league."
The Bruins are dealing with their own injuries, with goalie Tuukka Rask sidelined with a concussion and defenseman Adam McQuaid out eight weeks with a broken fibula. Forward David Krejci and defenseman Kevin Miller are both game-time decisions.
