by Mike G. Morreale

Forward Kyle Connor of the Youngstown Phantoms of the United States Hockey League, No. 14 on NHL Central Scouting's midterm ranking of the top North American skaters eligible for the 2015 NHL Draft, was named the USHL CCM Forward of the Week on Monday.

The 6-foot-1, 177-pound left wing had four goals, five points and a plus-4 rating in three victories for the Phantoms this past weekend.

Connor, who is committed to the University of Michigan for the 2015-16 season, had the game-winning goal in a 3-2 victory against the Muskegon Lumberjacks on Friday. He then scored the tying goal on a penalty shot midway through the third period in an eventual 2-1 shootout win against the Madison Capitols on Saturday. He capped the weekend with two goals and an assist in a 5-0 victory against the Capitols on Sunday; it was his 11th multipoint game of the season.

Connor, who twice has been named USHL forward of the week, has 18 goals and 44 points in 36 games for Youngstown this season.
