Yogan puts up career-high six points in Erie's 8-2 thrashing of Oshawa @NHLdotcom

ERIE, Pa. - Andrew Yogan erupted for two goals and four assists, and Shawn Szydlowski added his second career hat trick to lead the Erie Otters to an 8-2 rout of the Oshawa Generals in OHL action Friday.

Yogan's career-high six points left him one shy of equalling the franchise record set by Tyler Rennette against Windsor on March 5, 1998. Yogan had the fifth six-point game in Otters' history.

Szydlowski added an assist for a four-point night, while Zack Torquato and Justin Hodgman each had a goal and an assist. Luke Gazdic had the other goal for the Otters (25-23-2-0), who put up their best offensive performance since a 9-5 win over Windsor on Jan. 18, 2008.

Brett Cook each added two assists in Erie's second straight win.

They broke Friday's game open with four second-period goals, which turned a 2-1 lead early in the period into a 6-2 advantage. The Otters scored those goals on 25 shots against goaltender Neil Conway.

Kory Nagy and Brett Parnham scored for the Generals (21-23-1-4), which have lost five straight. Parnham's second-period goal snapped the club's goal-scoring drought at 149 minutes two seconds.

Jaroslav Janus stopped 37 shots to earn the win, while Neil Conway stopped 17 shots in defeat.
