Yannick Veilleux puts Wolves ahead for good in 3-1 win over Moose @NHLdotcom

CHICAGO - Jordan Binnington only had to make 17 saves and Yannick Veilleux scored the eventual winner midway through the third period as the Chicago Wolves downed the visiting Manitoba Moose 3-1 on Friday in American Hockey League action.

Zach O'Brien opened the scoring for the Wolves (4-1-1) at 9:16 of the second period and Pat Cannone added an empty-net goal with less than two minutes to go in regulation.

Austen Brassard put the Moose (1-5-2) on the board 1:28 into the third.

Connor Hellebuyck kicked out 28-of-30 shots for Winnipeg's AHL affiliate.

Chicago, the farm club of the St. Louis Blues, went 1 for 3 on the power play while Manitoba failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.
