X Ambassadors to perform at 2016 NHL Awards

NEW YORK - The alternative rock band, X Ambassadors, will give a live musical performance at the 2016 NHL Awards™ on Wednesday, June 22 at The Joint, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino's state-of-the-art concert and entertainment venue, the National Hockey League announced today. Hosted by world-renowned actor Will Arnett, the two-hour primetime awards show will broadcast live at 7:00 p.m. ET / 4:00 p.m. PT on NBCSN in the U.S. and Sportsnet in Canada.
X Ambassadors released their debut full length album VHS (KIDinaKORNER/Interscope) in June 2015, where it debuted at #7 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and has since been certified gold by the RIAA. The set was produced by Grammy-winning producer Alex Da Kid and features the platinum selling, #1 Alternative radio song "Renegades." New single "Unsteady" is currently climbing the radio charts while the band is out on their VHS 2.0 Tour. X Ambassadors are also confirmed to play several major festivals this summer including Bunbury, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and were just added to the lineup for Glastonbury in the UK. The 2016 NHL Awards™ will honor the best regular-season players in a wide range of categories, including most valuable player (Hart Trophy), outstanding goaltender (Vezina Trophy), outstanding defenseman (Norris Trophy) and outstanding rookie (Calder Trophy); the Ted Lindsay Award, which is presented annually to the "most outstanding player" in the NHL as voted by fellow members of the National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA), also will be awarded.
