World Cup of Hockey Day 2 Roundup

TORONTO -- The kids are more than just alright. Just ask Team Finland.
Team North America, made up of players 23-and-under from Canada and the United States, soared out of the gate at the World Cup of Hockey 2016 on Sunday, defeating Finland, 4-1, at Air Canada Centre.

Jack Eichel, Johnny Gaudreau, Jonathan Drouin and Nathan MacKinnon scored for Team North America, which is 1-0 in Group B play. Finland is 0-1.

Team North America will be back on the ice Monday, taking on Team Russia, which is desperate for a win following a 2-1 defeat against Team Sweden in the first game Sunday.

Sweden defeats Russia

Team Sweden, playing without No. 1 goaltender Henrik Lundqvist, who was ill, got 27 saves from backup goalie Jacob Markstrom to defeat Team Russia.
Team Russia appeared to tie the game on a goal by Alex Ovechkin with 8.2 seconds left, but the goal was waved off and video replay confirmed the Team Russia forward batted the puck into the net with his glove and the puck did not touch his stick on the way in.

Rebound

Team USA got back to work Sunday, trying to regroup after its 3-0 defeat against Team Europe on Saturday. The defeat set up what is a virtual must-win against Team Canada on Tuesday (8 p.m. ET; ESPN, SN, TVA Sports).
