MONTREAL (AP) -With starting goalie Cristobal Huet sidelined because of a groin injury, the Montreal Canadiens recalled goaltender Jaroslav Halak from Hamilton of the AHL on Monday.
Huet injured his groin in Saturday's 5-4 shootout loss to Nashville. The 22-year-old Halak will back up 20-year-old rookie Carey Price, who will start Tuesday game against Detroit.

The Slovakian went 10-6-0 with a 2.89 GAA and a .906 save percentage in 16 games when he debuted with the Canadiens last season. Halak went 7-0 with two shutouts at home.
Huet, who led Eastern Conference goalies in All-Star voting through last week's results, is 7-6-3 with one shutout, a 2.35 GAA and .926 save percentage in 16 games. Price is 6-3-1 with a 2.84 GAA and a .912 save percentage in 10 games.
