WPG@DAL: Seguin deflects shot past Hellebuyck for PPG

DALLAS -- Ben Bishop made 27 saves, and the Dallas Stars ended a four-game losing streak with a 4-2 win against the Winnipeg Jets at American Airlines Center on Saturday.

Tyler Seguin and Brett Ritchie each scored a power-play goal, and John Klingberg and Esa Lindell each had two assists for the Stars (24-21-4), who had scored three goals in their previous four games.
"We played fast because we were simple and almost predictable out there," said Stars captain Jamie Benn, who had an assist while playing on the second line with Radek Faksa and Blake Comeau. "I think that's the way we have to play. We don't have all of the skill in the world, but we have enough skill to make plays once we get it in."

Brendan Lemieux and Kyle Connor scored for the Jets (31-15-2), who had won four straight. Connor Hellebuyck made 35 saves.
"You're going to have a [bad game] every once in a while," Jets forward Mark Scheifele said. "We had ours tonight."
Ritchie gave Dallas a 1-0 lead at 7:53 of the first period, redirecting Klingberg's point shot on the power play. It was the first power-play goal for the Stars in their past 13 opportunities.

"[Klingberg] and I talked about it before," Ritchie said. "I'm playing as the middle guy there, and he said the last game he played them that he was able to get some shots through."
Comeau scored 22 seconds into the second period on a rebound in front to make it 2-0.

"We really didn't do anything special out there," Benn said. "We just put it in the corners and tried to hit guys and work our butts off. When you do that, good things happen."
Said Stars coach Jim Montgomery, "I thought they led us, the entire line."
Faksa extended the lead to 3-0 at 13:36, receiving a drop pass from Roman Polak and scoring glove side from the left circle on a 3-on-2. The goal came 13 seconds after Dallas killed a Winnipeg power play.
The Stars outshot the Jets 28-12 through two periods, but Winnipeg had the edge, 17-11, in the third period.
Lemieux scored at 3:25 of the third to make it 3-1, skating around Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen from the right side and shooting past Bishop after he missed on a poke check.

Connor scored 21 seconds later to cut it to 3-2. Following a turnover behind the net, Wheeler got the puck in the left circle and sent a cross-ice backhand pass to Connor, who scored on a one-timer. The goal was his 100th point in the NHL.
Seguin redirected a point shot from Klingberg on the power play to make it 4-2 at 18:15.
"They were desperate, and we weren't able to match that through the first two (periods)," Jets captain Blake Wheeler said. "Spent too much time in the box (Dallas went 2-for-7 on the power play). We were able to get some momentum in the third, but it wasn't enough."
