Winnipeg Jets connect on the power play to beat the Buffalo Sabres 4-1 @NHLdotcom

WINNIPEG - The Buffalo Sabres gave up two power-play goals Thursday night on their way to their 11th straight road loss as they bowed 4-1 to the Winnipeg Jets.

Andrew Ladd, Tobias Enstrom, Tim Stapleton and Nik Antropov scored for the Jets (22-20-5).

Drew Stafford had Buffalo's (19-23-5) only goal.

January hasn't been kind to the Jets either but the win boosted their record for the month to 3-6.

The Sabres were spectators in the first as they were outskated and outshot 19-10.

A lot of those shots weren't much of a threat but Ron Hainsey finally slammed one from the point at 11:34 that went in off Ladd, his 16th of the season. Hainsey got credit for it briefly and it would have been his first, had it stuck.

Buffalo goaltender Ryan Miller got more of a break in the second as the Sabres picked up the pace and Stafford evened things up at 4:18 getting one past Winnipeg's Ondrej Pavelec.

Enstrom put the Jets in front again on a power play at 12:55 with his third goal in as many games and Stapleton added some insurance with his power-play goal early in the third.

Antropov added another with less than two minutes left and Kyle Wellwood's second assist of the night lifted him to a career total of 200 points.

The Jets went 2-for-4 on power-play chances Thursday. Going into Thursday's game they hadn't connected on the power play in their last five.
