Wings' Howard shines in win against Blackhawks @NHLdotcom

Jimmy Howard made 26 saves for the Detroit Red Wings in a 3-2 preseason win against the Chicago Blackhawks at Joe Louis Arena.

The game started 45 minutes later than scheduled because the Blackhawks encountered travel problems.

Tomas Nosek and Andrej Nestrasil each had a goal and an assist for Detroit. Tomas Tatar scored, and Justin Abdelkader had two assists.

Antti Raanta started in goal and stopped 21 of 22 shots for Chicago. Michael Leighton made 17 saves in relief, and Bryan Bickell and Garret Ross scored in the third period.
