Windsor Spitfires beat Brampton 5-3 to take 2-0 series lead against Battalion

BRAMPTON, Ont. - Five different players scored for the Spitfires on Friday as Windsor beat the Brampton Battalion 5-3 in Game 2 of the Ontario Hockey League final.

Dale Mitchell, Mark Cundari, Ben Shutron, Andrei Loktionov and Tayler Hall each scored for the Spitfires, who took a 2-0 series lead after dominating Brampton 10-1 in Game 1 on Wednesday.

After Mitchell, Cundari and Shutron scored first-period goals, Battalion forward Jason Dale cut the lead to 3-1 at 4:00 of the second.

Loktionov restored the Spitfires' three-goal lead at 13:50, before Brampton's Matt Kang replied less than a minute later to make it 4-2.

Kang scored again at 7:41 in the third period, but Hall's empty-net goal in the final minute of the game secured the win for Windsor.

Spitfires goaltender Andrew Engelage made 25 saves, while at the other end Thomas McCollum stopped 37.
