GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Clay Wilson scored 52 seconds into overtime and Danny Taylor made 43 saves as the Abbotsford Heat beat the Grand Rapids Griffins 4-3 in American Hockey League action Wednesday.
The Heat have gone 5-0-1 since they signed Taylor after starting goaltender Leland Irving was called up to the NHL's Calgary Flames. Taylor has a 1.80 goals-against average and a .944 save percentage over that span.
Krys Kolanos had two goals and an assist for the Heat (20-8-2), who moved within two points of the Oklahoma City barons for first place in the West Division. Quintin Laing had the other Abbotsford goal.
Brent Raedeke, Tomas Tatar and Joakim Andersson replied for the Griffins (12-13-4). Joey MacDonald made 26 saves for Grand Rapids.
