KENNEWICK, Wash. - Mason Wilgosh and Mitch Fadden each scored two goals, Jason Reese had a goal and two assists and the Tri-City Americans hammered the Chilliwack Bruins 8-1 in Western Hockey League action Wednesday.
Kruise Reddick, Brett Plouffe and Brooks Macek also scored as 15 different Tri-City players earned at least one point. Chet Pickard and Brett Martyniuk shared time in goal, stopping 21 of 22 shots.
The U.S. Division-leading Americans (44-16-0-3, 91 points) scored season highs for goals (eight) and goals in one period when they went on a five-goal run in the second. The victory keeps Tri-City eights points in front of Spokane in the race for the division banner.
Jesse Craige scored the lone goal for the Bruins (15-43-2-5, 37 points), which have lost four in a row.
Lucas Gore and Mark Friesen combined for 30 saves for the Bruins.
