CHICAGO -- With its first fourth-round pick (97th overall) in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, the Minnesota Wild selected forward Mason Shaw of the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League.

Scouting report:Shaw's 94 points in 71 games were second-most on the Tigers. He assisted on five goals in a game on Oct. 19 and finished the season with 67 assists.
He represented Canada at the 2016 Under-18 World Championship, scoring one goal and posting six assists in seven games. He names Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand and Montreal Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher as players he models his style of play after.
